Sanity case – this legal term finds application in the Criminal proceedings. There refers to a lawsuit in which the court has to decide if the convicted is in clear mental capability or not. Only then the court jury could decide about the guilt and respectively about the punishment. Because in most jurisdictions the mentally incapable persons should not receive a criminal penalty for the criminal actions they perform. But to be sent for medical treatment in specialized psychiatric hospitals instead.
